Telling Family!

Rather than me explaining how it went down, I've got videos of the announcements! I'll give you a little background for each so you know what's going on before you watch! Enjoy! (By the way, I cry every time I watch these! Ha... Dang hormones!)

Telling Sandy's Parents: My dad has a gun collection that he doesn't lock up, so I always told him that he'd know I was pregnant when we bought him a gun safe. Apparently neither he nor my mom remember us telling them that! Luckily, I remembered to put a baby bib inside of the gun safe! You can watch the video here: http://youtu.be/DWtjQE_vN6E

Telling Neal's Mom and Grandma: We purchased a picture frame that said "My First Year" and included a photo of the positive pregnancy test on it. You can watch the video here: http://youtu.be/DMPadILnDss

Telling Kristy: I *tried* to make Kristy think the pregnancy stick was a pen, but she figured it out really fast!! You can watch the video here: http://youtu.be/5pO-VDdZyWE

Telling Jason & Virginia: I made William a onsie that said "I'm going to be a BIG cousin!" You can watch the video here: http://youtu.be/hv6Uaz17NHs

Telling the Kutacs: I told them I was cleaning out my closet and had a big bag of shoes and clothes to give them. I put a picture of the ultrasound inside one of the shoes! You can watch the video here:  http://youtu.be/Pw_fy1X28_c

The Big Reveal!

I always imagined the way I'd tell my husband I was pregnant. I knew it'd be fun and creative, like making a shirt for my dog, Ike, that say's "Mommy's Pregnant" or making him dinner with nothing but "baby" foods. But I never expected him to find out the way he did... It was Wednesday, January 25th at 7am. I woke up feeling really sick; I was actually up most of the night sick. I thought it was something I ate the night before. So I decided to call in sick. Neal tells me, "Why don't you take a pregnancy test?" I was really tired of wasting money on those things! For the last year, I kept getting the "one pink line" that means it's negative. So he then tells me, "If you take it and it's positive, I'll call in sick, too." I'm always up for a dare (and I love proving him wrong), so I went for it, assuming I'd be saying "I told you so!" Almost immediately I saw two pink lines (meaning a positive result), and as I held back tears, I ran out of the bathroom and said, "Uh.... ummmmm. Babe! UUUUHHHHH.... I think you need to call in sick today." I'm not sure if he believed me right away, until I put that beutiful little stick in front of him. I don't think I've ever seen him smile so big! Knowing that our general care doctor's office didn't open until 8am, we "patiently" waited....and started chugging water...and waited...and drank more water...and I went online to research the statistics on First Response Pregnancy tests... I was certain there was a mistake! By about 7:45, I was ready to go! I couldn't wait any longer!! I needed to know if the test was wrong!!! But just as we suspected, WE'RE PREGNANT! I immediately called my OBGYN office and set my first appointment... So now we have to wait until February 8th until our first appointment and hopefully have great news!

Our New Adventure!

So now you all know now that we are having a baby! We're due October 2, 2012. Since we've known since I was only four weeks along, we've held our little secret for a while! I've been documenting how I felt, like announcing it to everyone, food aversions and cravings, etc. and so the first few posts will catch you up on the first few weeks of my pregnancy! Warning: there may be some things you probably didn't want to know (and I kept it as PG as I could), but I don't want to leave anything out!! :-)
